Bridges
Sometimes a little extra work is needed to create your desired smile. If you are missing teeth, having trouble speaking or chewing, or notice strain when biting, bridges may be the ideal option to help make your mouth healthy and beautiful again.
Sometimes referred to as fixed partial dentures, bridges literally bridge the gaps between teeth by filling them with strong, natural-looking artificial teeth. Bridges are relatively permanent and can only be removed by a dentist, but are completely comfortable and proven to make teeth strong. To find out if bridges are the right option for you, contact Dr. Pohl today!
Crowns
Also called caps, crowns, are natural-looking covers that fit snugly over teeth to conceal cracked, badly discolored, injured, or chipped teeth. Crowns minimize physical discomfort and provide support to damaged teeth. Ultimately, crowns can improve the overall appearance of your smile while making your teeth more resistant to injury.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are used in cosmetic dentistry as a way to repair cracked, chipped, misshaped, permanently stained, or any other problems with the front teeth in as little as two visits.
Porcelain Inlays & Onlays
Have you ever noticed dark, unattractive old fillings that show when you smile or laugh? Porcelain Inlays and Onlays are simple, painless solutions to help you create a beautiful smile.
Inlays and Onlays are high quality restorations made of porcelain, extremely strong, long lasting and they help restore and protect the tooth against further damage. An Inlay covers only one or two surfaces of the damaged tooth and is used to restore a small amount of decay. An Onlay actually covers more areas of the tooth, generating a wider area of restoration.
Dr. Pohl can replace almost any unsightly silver or gold filling with a beautiful Inlay in just two visits. If you want to smile with confidence, Inlays and Onlays you're your esthetic and enduring choice!
Dentures - Prosthodontics
When teeth are missing, the face loses its natural contour and fullness, resulting in a sunken and prematurely older appearance. The traditional fix for this problem is to be fitted with a partial or full set of dentures – prosthetic teeth that can be taken in and out of the mouth.
Full Dentures
Full dentures are designed to replace all of the teeth on the upper or lower arch (or both). They are designed to fit perfectly on the ridges inside the mouth, held in place by the natural suction created by the facial muscles.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures replace some of the teeth in your mouth and are held in place with attachments that grip onto existing teeth. An increasing popular hybrid of traditional dentures involves dental implants used to secure the plates in place. Dr. Pohl will meet with you to assess the optimal solution to meet your special needs.
Tooth Replacement
Dr. Pohl employs many different techniques for tooth replacement based upon the unique situation of the patient. This could include bridges, partials or implants. Please call today for your consultation!
Dental Implant Placement & Restoration
Missing permanent teeth can be embarrassing, but it no longer has to deter you from showing off your smile. Dental implants offer a permanent, natural-looking to missing teeth. A dental implant is a small titanium screw or cylinder, which is surgically placed in the upper or lower jawbone, providing a permanent anchor for an artificial tooth.
A patient may have a single dental implant for one missing tooth, or several dental implants to replace multiple missing teeth. Unlike dental bridges, the adjoining healthy teeth are not disturbed when placing a dental implant. Dental implants can stabilize dentures so that they do not shift in the patient's mouth. In addition, in some cases a series of dental implants can be placed, thus eliminating the need for traditional dentures.
Dr. Pohl specializes in implants and will conduct a free consultation to assess your individual situation and provide you with additional information on the health benefits of dental implants.
