Oral Surgery and Tooth Extractions
Oral surgery can include procedures such as:

Oral surgery is almost always performed as a last measure to preserve oral health. Oral surgeries like tooth extractions are permanent, and are a last resort. Dr. Pohl will always attempt to save as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Sometimes, oral surgeries are performed as preventative measures. For instance, oral surgery is quite often performed to remove impacted teeth or wisdom teeth if they will cause too many dental problems by growing.
Impacted teeth are usually teeth like the third molars, or wisdom teeth. Many times, wisdom teeth begin to enter the mouth as an angle, butting up against the other molars in your mouth. When this occurs, it can cause serious crowding and decay problems.
Oral surgery can be performed to correct many dental and gum tissue problems that you may have. Many times, dental symptoms can indicate larger problems that can be prevented with oral surgery.
